Starting north of New York City, Velocity offers riders one route with four distinct distances to choose from: 62.5, 45, 25, or 10 miles.  For reference, here is a glimpse at the spectacular journey our Velocity riders took in 2017:

Our route showcased the beauty of the Hudson Valley and Northern New Jersey area at the peak of fall foliage. Our 62.5-mile Silver Start area was near Harriman State Park at Palisades Union Credit Park in Pomona. With the mountains at our backs, we wound our way through lower Hudson Valley and Rockland County’s quaint villages and towns such as Montebello and Pearl River. Our 45-mile Yellow Start was in Mahwah at Mindray North America Corporate Headquarters. Pomona Riders already on the route chose to continue on or stop to take a break, grabbed water or snacks, or visited our medical team.

Heading out from the 45-mile start, riders enjoyed some of the beauty of Bergen County and towns such as Saddle River and Woodcliff Lake before crossing the state line again back into New York toward the Green 25-mile Start Area in Orangeburg, NY at Chromalloy headquarters.  Again, the 25-mile start was available as a rest area for all riders from further distances.

As the route progressed towards New York City, riders entered Bergen County, NJ and gained momentum through the gentle hills of picturesque towns such as Old Tappan, Alpine and Cresskill. Our 10-mile Blue Start Area was in Closter, NJ where our final riders merged onto the route and formed one unstoppable force heading toward the majestic George Washington Bridge with unparalleled views of the Hudson. And finally, triumphantly, we crossed the finish line together at Columbia and the end of cancer.

This is a route and an event that you don’t want to miss. And we haven’t even mentioned the Velocity Finish Line Festival featuring lunch and a beer garden.

Note: The above route description is not final and Start Area and route locations may change. As Start Areas and routes are finalized we will update this description and all available details.
